Well today was a very early start, the alarm went off at 5.00am, and we had to meet at the corner of Whitehorse and Springvale roads at 6.15.
After a slow start Billy and I finally got there just in time to say hello and then drive off in the last group to leave.
The route we would take took us out through Warrandyte, Christmas Hills, and Healesville where we had Breakfast and a break for a chat to swap stories of our trip so far. some of us got a little lost and had to back track a couple of Kilometers near Christmas Hills.A fantastic setting in the garden behind a cafe in Healesville was an ideal location on a stunning morning for Breakfast! It was not long before we hit the road again and set off for the summit of Lake Mountain. On our way we passed through Marysville where the devastation of the bush fires from 3 years ago is still quite obvious as it is at Lake Mountain, the trees on the summit were like Skeletal Sentinals reminding everyone who visits of the danger of Bush Fires. This was a fun drive with twisty and open roads that could be enjoyed within sensible speed limits.
On our arrival it was pointed out to me the the BMW had a hitch hiking Mascot, a Huntsman had come along for the ride and was sitting on the boot lid.(see the photo). The drive back down Lake Mountain was broken by a stop to observe a minutes silence for Rememberance Day, which Honours our fallen servicemen.
Our convoy of cars was primarily Porsches of various types and models with my BMW and a late model Maserati the only exceptions, in total we had 20 cars which made for a great day.
A big thank you to Kerry, Mark and Theo for organising the day!

Damn, I wish I had have known. We live near the corner of Springvale Rd & Whitehorse Rd! Hmmmmm, but I guess the 6.15am start might have eliminated us from catching up with you… It sounds like you enjoyed yourselves!!!
